Friday Favorites: Swim Suits
I am officially on spring break! I started it early by going out last night with friends and dancing. Before last night I hadn't been out in 3 weeks, so it was very much needed. I ended up spending a little more money then planned. But oh well, its all worth a good time. Right? I did have one class today, but the rest of my time has been spent in front of the tv catching up on gossip girl. I stopped watching after season 2, so right now I'm watching it on dvd and then i plan on watching the rest of the seasons on dvd (my roomie has all the seasons). I do have some work to do over spring break, actually more than I thought (a english paper, a 8-page ecology paper, a biochem, lab report, and lots of reading). So I'm planning on spending my time this weekend getting the majority of it done. But most of all I am leaving for Mexico on Sunday and I am excited. I thought it would only be proper to dedicate my friday favorites to some cute bathing suits just in time for spring break. Enjoy!

Music Monday: Katy Perry
Happy Monday everyone! I'm actually happy its Monday because I know I am only a few days away from spring break. Can't for this week to zoom on by, which it should. Right now I am love with the song, E.T. by Katy Perry. I haven't always liked Katy Perry but I am really enjoying her music this year. And even though every artists writes music above love, I think its cool when an artist can make a song that is different. E.T. is one of those songs. I must admit, its pretty catchy.
Here are some things on my mind lately:
1. Spring Break/ Mexico (thats a given!)
2. Moving to LA (after going this weekend I feel like its the next step in my life)
3. Money and a job (Unfortunately, my interview did not go as planned)
4. Going out with friends on Thursday (Haven't been out in 3 weekends!)
Enjoy your Monday everyone!

cruise wishlist + weekend update
Hey everyone! I hope you all are having a relaxing Sunday. I can't believe this time next week I will be boarding my ship and heading off to Mexico. I am really really really excited! This next week cannot go by fast enough. My mom was nice enough to offer to buy me a few things for the cruise. The only thing is I need more shorts, and I don't think buying them online is a good idea. I have some thunder thighs, so I'm unsure what sizes will fit right. All of the following items are from forever 21.
My weekend was great! I went on a little road-trip with my roomie to go home and visit her family. I had a lot of fun and had some great food. As usual now my sunday is going to be spent doing homework. I need to dedicate a post to life and what I'm been thinking about my future, so maybe I will do that latter this week. Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Friday Favorites: I'm Bringing sexy-back
I am not the type of girl whos afraid to try something a little edgy, will shy away from wearing something thats loud, or is scared to show a little extra skin. As long as its classy and I can make it look fabulous then I'm all for it. A girl is most sexy when she can be revealing but still look classy. As women we usually draw attention to our most appealing body features; our breasts, our legs, our butts, and even now and then a collar bone. But right now I think most appealing body feature is the back. No, not your lower back! Just your plain old back! And I am loving how back-sliced dresses are re-defining sexy and revealing. Be a little edgy and sexy the next time you go out and wear a dress that draws attention to that beautiful back of yours. Here are some of my favorites:
I also wanted to give you guys some reminders of some great give-aways that will be closing at the end of March. Kaelah always has some of the best giveaways on her blog and this month is giving away a flip cam to one lucky follower. Lindsay is also having a giveaway over at her blog. The winner gets two pick two items from the sandy a la mode shop. Check them out and enter for some cool goodies! Have an amazing weekend everyone.

wishlist wednesday--etsy edition
I am finally all done with my midterms and it feels amazing. I seriously came home yesterday and stuffed my face and then just crashed for a few hours. Since I finally had sleep and energy I was able to go running. I am sad to say that I am no longer participating in the mud run this weekend. It just happens to fall at a bad time since spring break is the following week and I need to be saving up all my extra cash for that. The thing is, there are plenty of other 5ks, 10ks, and half marathons that I can participate in. I am so proud for pushing myself hard for two weeks so that I could get in shape. One of my goals was to work out 2x a week, and I've been working out more than that. At the beginning I could barely run 1.25 miles without dying, whereas today I ran over 2.5 miles! Its feels good, and I plan on training for some other races in the near future.
I can't believe its only Wednesday, but I'm happy the remainder of my week is going to be pretty laid back and fun-filled. I decided to make my wishlist wednesday composed of things that I've been lusting after on etsy. I am all for etsy and especially handmade and crafted things by unique people, and I could search hours and hours and come across all sorts of cool stuff. I especially love the fact that people are selling items right now to help with relief for the earthquakes/tsunamis in Japan. I think its important that we help the people of Japan after so much destruction has been done. Here are some things I am wishing for from etsy

I think I would wear them in only one ear like Dev does in here Bass Down Low Video. I'd also probably wear them against a basic skin-tight dress, and let the accessory define my outfit.
2. Flora Headband
I absolutely love the headbands and accessories over at Sunshine and Carousels. The pastels and florals make me so excited for spring!
3. Tattoo Sock
How cool are these? They are basically transparent tights with designs on them that look like tattoos. Yes, I'm a wuss and will hopefully have my first tattoo by the end of 2011, but these will be a great investment until then.
Haha, wouldn't it be cool to have people think that your using a real camera, when its really your iphone?
I loooove ruffles. I think this clutch is perfect for spring and summer. I would use it when wearing a floral or all white dress. I could totally get my "hamptons-socialite" on with this clutch.

music monday
I've been a fan on maroon 5 for years now, which says a lot since they are outside of my usual genre of music. But man can these boys make some good music, and Adam Levine has an amazing voice. Did I mention that he is easy on the eyes? I've seen them in concert once (2 years ago) and would love to see them in concert again someday. This video is for their song Never Gonna leave this bed. I love the song and the video concept is great. I want to know how they managed to stay serious with all the people gawking at them and snapping pictures. Madness! As soon I start working again I need to purchase their album along with Adele's 21 album.
Going to keep this entry short and sweet as I have to squeeze in quick nap and sleep before its back to the library for a 6 hour study session. Here some thoughts on my mind this Monday:
1. Been debating about possibly changing my career goals post-graduation. But I need to do some more research later this week. I'll write more about this once I find out more specific details.
2. Played around with super expensive microscopes in biochem lab today (one was $400,000 and the other was $500,00). Glad I was not accident prone today ;D
3. Forgot about this since its been a busy weekend.....but in two weeks from now I will be on a ship and close to Mexico
4. The time change has definitely thrown me off, but I'm reading for spring and sunshine :)

Friday Favorites: Jeffrey Campbell
This is my friday favorites, just one day late. As I've mentioned a many of times...I love shoes! I feel like a pair of shoes can make or break an outfit. Lets face it, if your not wearing the right shoes it can make your outfit look like crap. Am i right? If I could I would have a shoe closet that resembles carrie bradshaw, and I would have shoes from all the top fashion designers. But I am a broke college student so those days are far away. However, I do love coming across an amazing pair of shoes and thinking "I have to have those!" or "Those would look so cute with my ____!"
One designer that has been growing on me is Jeffery Campbell. First I was kind of ehhh about his style, and there are still some things of his that I would never wear. But other then that he makes some darn cute shoes. A man that knows womens footwear is a man after my own heart. As you guy knows, I'm all about being a little edgy, and thats what I like most about his shoes. Now I think his stuff is pricey but not too bad. If I was out of school and working I'd probably be able to afford it. But for my budget the highest I'll go for is steve madden brand, and even thats pushing the limits. Regardless, here are some amazing shoes designed by Mr. Campbell.
All of these pictures are from lulus. But you can find more of his shoes at shopnastygal & Karmaloop. Have an amazing weekend everyone!

Is it really Wednesday? My hump day is basically over. Now I just need to squeeze in a run and a workout. Then I'm headed to the library all night to work on a paper. Boooo :( I had a really productive day so far. This morning I woke up early and participated in a vision screening for homeless children. It felt great being able to help and all the Optometrists were so nice and personable. I need to dash, but I leave you guys with somethings im wishing for this wednesday:
1. This super cute girly bathing suit.
2. Paradise.
3. Can't go wrong with alexander mcqueen! This bracelet is a must!

i will never walk away again, im never going to leave this bed
Hey friends! I've been so incredibly busy lately, but nonetheless amazing! This past weekend was so much fun and included dinner downtown twice, checking out a new lounge, celebrating birthdays, running, going to the beach, and of course homework. All I can say is that I am so happy and loving everything about life right now. I also like the fact that its been sunny and warm, oh spring hurry and get here :) Here are some amazing things going on in my life right now:
1. Running 2.25 miles non-stop today! I couldn't believe it. Maybe taking a day off was necessary. Felt I could have ran longer but I was running late for something else and had to turn around. So happy that I'm closer to my goal then ever before. Ran over 3.5 miles total today!
2. Got a B+ on my first english paper of the semester. Debating if I should re-do it to get a better grade or wait to do the re-do on one my other 3 papers left this semester....
3. Volunteered today (& last Tuesday) helping kids with their homework. Tomorrow morning I'm waking up bright and early to volunteer with some Optometrists to do a vision screening for homeless children :]
4. Got my passport earlier this week (It took less then 3 weeks, w/o getting it expedited!). I'm starting to get so very excited for my cruise and Mexico. But first I need to put in hard work these next two weeks.
5. Interview this Thursday for a job! *crossing fingers*
What things are making you feel happy or accomplished this week?

TGIF & Book Review
Good morning everyone! I love being able to wake up and take my time with my day even if I have a lot on my plate. I can get chores done, clean-up a little, and make myself a nice meal, before I really need to start my day. Now, I am realizing how much I need to do this weekend. I was going into this weekend thinking I just had to do a little catch up on some reading. More things got added on the list, but no prob, they will get done!
So one of my goals for my 43 things was to read 5 books this year. Thats a lot for me considering I am always busy just trying to stay on top of my reading for my classes. But I do love a good book, it puts me in such a relaxing mood and allows me to get lost in a different world. So in January I headed over to barnes & noble to purchase my first book. Of course I felt so overwhelmed and wanted to read almost every single book the on the shelf. Usually I go for classic books because I feel like I should read them if they have some type of historical significance. I sat down and read the beginnings of many books, flipped through the pages of others, and had a hard time coming to a decision. If I had it my way I would buy all the books there and start my own personal library. Some how I came across one book that I knew I couldn't just leave on the shelf, and I walked out the store with my purchase in hand.
Little Bee is a story about two women from completely different worlds (countries) and how they help each other with the issues (death, cheating, obtaining freedom) in their lives. You'll laugh, you'll cry, and you will appreciate your life and freedom. You will go from a sunny beach on the coast of Nigeria to the bustling and busy city of London. The book left my crying on the last few pages as I assumed the fate of one of the characters. I don't want to give it all away, but I want to say that I highly recommend it. Its great story or establishing relationships and appreciating what we do have in life. I'm happy to have 1 book crossed off my list!

Its compromise that moves us along
I decided not to do a wishlist wednesday today. Although there are many lovely things I would love to have, this week I am feeling particularly content with what I have. I love this feeling! I kind of went into slump mode last month because I got sick and then ended up getting overwhelmed. But this month I am ready for good things. I slightly re-vamped my goals list that I posted earlier this week. So here goes the new one:
1. Volunteer at least 4x this month
2. Go to ballet classes at least 3x this month
3. Kick ass on my two midterms and two papers
4. Be able to run 5k and have an amazing time at the Mud run
5. Get a part-time job
I'm already starting off right. I went running today and I also volunteered. I always feel so amazing volunteering, and its one of my favorite things to do. In the beginning I always feel kind of whatever about it but by the time I leave I really feel like truly making the difference in someone's life. For example, I met a mother today that introduced herself on a first name basis and said thanks for helping her son with his essay. Amazing :) Running has gotten the best of me though. Can I be in shape already? My goal is to be able to run 3k by Saturday. Right now I can run past 2k, but not quite 3k yet. I know I can do it! I thought of some more things I would like to accomplish this year so I am planning on updating my 43 things page and adding some more wonderful goals to my list.
Oh and I got an interview for next week. Please keep your fingers crossed for me ;)
What are your goals for march? Hows the progress on your new years resolutions?
