{March}

I feel that an important part of life is having something to look forward to. Please don't get me wrong. I believe in appreciating the moment and not worrying about tomorrow or the next day. To simply take each day for what its worth. Every time I have one of those "life is beautiful" moments, I stop, take a deep breath, and thank god for his blessing.  But what if we went about life not thinking about the next thing? Wouldn't it be monotonous? Wouldn't we feel like we lost purpose? Zest? Love for life? I think so. I definitely feel down when not having something to look forward to.  It doesn't have to be anything extravagant like a trip to europe or a marriage (even though I'm sure we all deep down would love something like that). It could be having a date on the weekend, or seeing a movie, or a trip to the beach. It could be very simple. We all have dreams and hopes. We want to accomplish certain things in our lives.  To feel stuck is not a fun feeling, but let your mind wander and dream about the possibilities is amazing. I'm happy to say that I feel like March will be bringing me some things to look forward to, and for the first time in a while I'm excited.

{impossible doesn't exist}

This song has been my go to song lately. It just makes me feel happy and good, which is exactly what I needed after these long two weeks. And of course it makes me want to dance around in my undies (or just in the club for that matter). And now I feel like my new motto is, impossible doesn't exist. This is the attitude I want to have at this point in time no matter how tired or stressed I get. 12 weeks to graduation-- I got this!

Some things that happened this week?

1. Having a redbull every night to get me through nights of studying. So much to do and very little energy, which is how my whole week has been like. Its almost 12:00 and I have to be up at 6:30 tomorrow. Two more long days :/

2. Nightly outings with my mama while shes been in town. We've been to dinner, old town, downtown, and church. YES! I finally went to church. The first time in lord knows how long, and man did I have an amazing time. I plan on attending weekly, but more on that later. I'm sad my mom leaves tomorrow, it was so nice having her around.

3. I will be taking a pamper day on Wednesday as its much needed. Nails done and hair done. And of course I need to get back into the gym since I haven't been since my mom has been here.

{getting to happy}

What a busy week its been! And although I've been stressed beyond belief, things are getting better. I learned something this week: If you need help, don't be afraid to ask. I realized I was stretching myself thin and needed help from others, and now I feel much better. Yes, sometimes life does hand you way too much at once and you don't know how to deal with it all. Thats kind of what happened to me. But like I said, things are getting better. I have a lot going on these next two weeks but I can do it!

What else is going on?
1. My mommy dearest is flying in tonight and is staying with me until Saturday. I'm very excited! But I do wish I could spend more time with her when she is here. I just have wayyyy too much going on. If I'm not at school or work, I'll be studying thanks to having 2 exams and a paper due this week. But of course we will still be doing things :) I feel like I'm going to be gaining weight while shes here, but I love her cooking!

2. Love the gym and my body is feeling great. Its only been 3 weeks since I've been getting back into shape and I already see my arms starting to shape up. Such a great feeling. And feeling tired from the gym definitely helps me get to bed at the end of the night.

3. Things at work have been changing. Not only have hours been cut, but new rules are being established, and people are being moved to different departments. I like change, but having this all done at once pushes me out of my comfort zone. I'm going to have to get used to it.
Hopefully more exciting update soon, I've just been busy. March should be more exciting.

no love on valentines day

I have a love/hate relationship with valentines day, and my viewpoint currently stands in the middle about this holiday. I feel that if you are in love or have lots of love in your life, you are going to view valentines day as a significant and meaningful holiday. I mean really, we all want love in our lives. So having a day set out to celebrate all this love and feel special is going to be great. Then we have those people that are single and/or lacking love in their life. So being forced to look at other people expressing their love is kind of a slap in the face. You feel inadequate and like you are greatly missing something in your life. Because thats all life is really about, right? Love. This is what I feel is at the center of the great divide that is valentines day.

Out of my whole valentines day I have probably celebrated only 3 with a significant other. Being a single girl for the past few years has left me feeling lonely. As I inch further along my 20s the fear of being alone becomes worse, and I think to myself when will my future boyfriend walk into my life? Valentines day just waves this issue right. in. front. of. my. face. But valentines love  includes all types of love....family and friends too. Unfortunately, I don't get showered with love from my family either. I come from the type of family where we don't ever say "I love you". Its more of something that is assumed than heard, and the belief is actions are supposed to show someone's love for you. Which is true. I also don't really get treated like a "princess" in my family. Which means I don't get flowers or cards sent to me on this holiday.  I am not trying to have a pity party here. I am just trying to shed some light on why some people consider valentines day a regular day, and why others tend to get bitter. I am not going to lie, I am envious of the many girls that get taken out to dinner by their significant others or flowers sent to them by their families on this day. But I also hope for a future of that type of love in my life. Don't be ostentatious about the things you receive on valentines, but instead be humbled and blessed. Not everyone is as lucky. But one day I hope to become one of those people that 100% loves valentines day.

{weekend wrap-up}

Another weekend coming to a close and boy did it go by fast.

Friday was my day off and it was so gorgeous outside. I went to the gym for a long workout sesh and ran errands all day. Wish, I would have gotten some more done. But it was still a nice productive day. At night we headed downtown for my roomie's going away get together. We had dinner upon the rooftop of Jsix, and ended the night upon the rooftop of the ivy. It was a fun night, but I am sad to see my roomie go. We've known each other since our first days in the dorms at the innocent age of 17. Now were 22 and life is starting to pull us in different directions. Best of luck to her at her new job, I know the future only holds good things.

Saturday I went to work for a few hours and then I felt a crash and burn. Maybe its from working out so much, but I don't know. I kind of also emotionally broke down too. I have no idea where it came from as minutes prior to my breakdown I was thinking about how blessed I was. I ended up taking a three hour nap, only to go back to bed an hour later. And I woke up still feeling tired. My poor body must being going through it right now. I'll be fine.

Sunday I had a long long crazy day of work. We had almost 2000 visitors and it was madness. I had already woken up feeling groggy and I just couldn't shake the feeling. So the day just felt so long. I came home and made a nice enchilada dinner and then had a late night gym sesh. I'm feeling so energized now so I am planning on working on my apps before I head off to bed.

Focus week

This week is my focus week. It is my week to set things in motion, work hard, and just straight up get shit done. I am a productive person and I love crossing things off my to-do list. But these past few weeks I saw myself falling off. Things were piling up, things weren't getting done, and most importantly I wasn't focusing on myself. I saw I was putting a lot of time and thought into other people and things, and not taking care of myself. This was making me unhappy and bitter. I decided I needed a change, and it wasn't going to happen over night. I decided to deem this week my focus week and take the time and work to get it all together. Let me say that although its only Tuesday, I feel great! My priorities are straight and I am getting things done.  I feel great :) The goal is to keep this up, which I sure I will. I just needed one good week of getting everything together.

15 Things Update--Part 1

Its officially February, we've made it one month into 2012. I am that much closer to college graduation and summer time. January was a nice relaxing month with a few minor set backs (car accident, etc). But I was able to complete some things off my list and I definitely want to continue working hard this next to complete things on my 15 things list. Too bad I still haven't come up with lucky number 15, should it be something drastic and big? I'm still pondering. Anyways, here's some updates on my progress with the list.

#3 Read the New Testament
I was doing really well with this as I would sleep in every morning and then read as much as I could before I got my day started. But now I am back to waking up early and being in a rush, so I've been slowing down. My goal is to still squeeze two chapters every morning. At this moment I am currently in the gospel of luke.

#4 Really love my body and take care of it
I am happy to say I am finally a member of 24 hour fitness after being anti-gym for a while. I really plan on taking advantage of their boot camp classes. I just love the fact that I can walk to the gym, which makes it that much more motivating. I'm not going to lie, I've been slacking this week. But I am ready to get things going this week. I also need to make a doctors appointment for a few things going on with me. And I also am planning on taking more vitamins to help keep me healthy and give me that energy boost.

#10 Read three new books
As of last night I officially finished The help. It was such a great book and really touching. I loved all the personalities of the characters. I found I could relate so much to Skeeter despite her being a girl from the 1960s. I guess life still sets these expectations of us and what we should accomplish by certain ages.  Now I need to read more books. I really don't know whats next, but I plan on spending next friday browsing through the aisles of B&N finding the next read.

I hope to make some more progress by the end of the month.
